6 Easy Steps To Write A Blog Post

November 6th, 2009 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

Writing is not as easy as it looks; writing is far more than typing something on the computer screen. It is more about sharing something we know, about revealing something of ourselves to the reader. Writing is a personal experience when you imagine something, live in it, and describe what it’s like to the reader of your writing. Writing a blog is more or less the same. When you write in a blog, you want your reader to be interested and visit your blog everyday just to check out if you have a new post. Many people good at designing and arranging their blog to be visually interesting, but when it comes to the content, they have no idea of what to write and how. If you have the same problem, keep reading. Here are the simple steps you can follow in writing blog contents:

1. Decide the topic idea.

Before you write anything down, decide what topic you want to talk about. You don’t want your writing to have so many ideas in it that it will confuse your reader and make your writing is not interesting at all. If you come up with so many topic ideas in your head, you should write them down. If they are related each other, you can make your blog post to be a serial that your writings will always be anticipated by your readers.

2. Make an outline of the topic.

After deciding which of the topic ideas you want to write first, you should make an outline. An outline is the basic ideas of how the ‘story’ goes in your writing that you create the effect you want to create on your reader after they read your post. Make the outline with simple and clear sentences that you can remember your ideas when looking at the outline.

3. Pick a tone.

Writing is like talking or telling a story. You have to pick what tone you want to ‘speak’ with. Of course the tone depends on the idea of your post and the general theme of your blog. Generally, it is suggested that you pick a casual tone. Write your blog in a casual and lay back tone; using this tone will make your writing to be interesting, and it is easier to convince people if you are using casual tones and ‘speak’ with casual and humorous language.

4. Write the blog post.

Now that all the preparations are done, write the blog post. It will be a kind of hard to create the first sentences, but with the help of the outline and as you go further in the writing process, it will be much easier for you that 300-700 words are an easy target to achieve.

5. Use a signature ending.

Try to end your post in more or less the same way. Use a special language style or quotation to be your signature ending. You can also add your name in the end of every post you write. It adds a personal touch to the blog post that it will create a bound between you and your reader.

6. Edit the blog post.

After writing, it is always a good thing to edit your post. Reconsider the words you choose, fix the grammar you may ignore when you were writing your blog post formerly, or simply fix he misspelled words. For some people, editing is the hardest part in writing. If you feel so, you can ask a reliable friend to proof read your writing for you. It is always more accurate to have other opinion before you send your writing to be read all over the world.

When all the steps are done, take a deep breath and exhale slowly. You have done one blog post. It is easy, isn’t it? When you are used to writing, producing a good writing will be as enjoyable as decorating the blog visually. Now, submit your blog post and see them as a reader. Do you like it? Make some more.
