Keyword is the king. This dogma is highly believed by most people who use their website as their business. To create more money, they need high traffic and to generate traffic, their website needs to have the right keyword that gives high relevance.

However, choosing the right keyword is not as easy as most people think. The keywords must be both relevant and off course, contextual with your website theme. Try to think about several keywords you would use to search sites with the same theme of your website. If the keyword gives the result you expected then that will definitely a good one. There is a misunderstanding among website owners that they put too many keywords in the website. Don’t ever do this! Instead of having high relevance, your website will get penalty from the search engine. You can check whether your website has the proper keywords density using one from lots free tools available.

Another way to find the best keywords is trying to take a look to competitor websites that are getting good search results. You can compare their source page, page contents, and keyword ration they have. Off course you are not supposed to copy all of those keywords and contents. But you can use it to take advantage for your website. It is not over when you have a good search result. You need to maintain it! Google’s webmaster tools could help you the keep the Meta tags correct and your keyword density is proper enough. Now you can start building up more traffic.
